Specification

This is where the whole process starts. We work with you to fully understand your requirements; only then can we produce a formal specification document, We go through this document with you, explaining each element to ensure that we're fulfilling your requirements.

 Proposal

Once the specification process is agreed, we create a project plan that details timescales and both internal and external resource requirements. This plan is monitored throughout the project, right up to delivery. The proposal also explains how we will design and build the machine, including hardware interfaces, overall dimensions, and construction details.

Design

We start this process by producing the system circuit diagram that details all of the hardware and cable interfaces. Once this is in place, we can then design the mechanical 3-D assembly in which all internal components are placed. We test our components using Cosmos simulation software, and the thermal characteristics are defined and a method of cooling established. We then produce custom PCBs using the mechanical and electrical design criteria, and prototype Veroboards are created to prove the design before the PCB layout.

Prototyping

Prototyping is key to the success of a custom machine. We carry out low volume production using approved suppliers and can produce mechanical components, custom PCB's and wiring assemblies in house. The prototypes are then fully tested to the agreed specifications, including thermal and power supply load testing.

Production

Only once all of the above stages are complete do we go into production. The design is reviewed with you, and product documentation is updated and released for manufacture. Our production test plan ensures that every machine that leaves our premises is subjected to electrical safety, burn-in, and functional tests.
